The Centre offers a comprehensive range of fully integrated in-house services delivered by our team of experienced professionals whose commitment to excellence extends across all events.
BCEC is located in the unique South Bank riverside precinct of Brisbane, the city’s cultural and entertainment hub, home to more than 35 cafes, bars and restaurants and Australia’s most celebrated Gallery of Modern Art.
BCEC was opened in June 1996, and then massively expanded and reconstructed in 2010. The building has 25,000m² of floorspace and includes two auditoria for 400 and 600 with accompanying foyer space, speakers’ facilities, and private boardrooms. A car park is located on the ground floor, and provides undercover parking for 1500 vehicles with direct access to the convention and exhibition facilities.
BCEC hosts events such as the Brisbane International Boat Show, graduation ceremonies for Griffith University and Southbank Institute of Technology, art shows, charity events, The Annual Stefan Hair Fashion Spectacular and the International Water Congress. The Centre was selected as the hosting venue for the 2014 G-20 Australia summit.
The Centre is a transport hub for trains, buses and the city’s high speed CityCats.
